Pepper AND Betty are pregnant!

That's right...Pepper AND Betty are pregnant! They are about 10 days apart from each other. This will be quite the adventure; two litters at the same time.

Pepper had her official ultrasound at our vets office. Our vet is so wonderful! He made sure I knew what I was looking at and took the time to answer questions I had. Thankfully, I had scanned her at home the week before so I could compare my technique with his. Unfortunately, ultrasounds are very difficult to get puppy counts with. We did estimate she is pregnant with at minimum 4 puppies but could be 5 or even 6. Her due date is roughly April 29th to May 2nd. We have a puppy count X-ray scheduled for the week before. That will give us a closer idea as to how many puppies to expect.

Betty has had an unofficial ultrasound performed by me yesterday. Everything looked exactly the same as Peppers so I am calling it... Betty is pregnant. My husband and I estimated 4 puppies but think its closer to 5. Betty was so wonderful during her ultrasound. She laid back and snored the entire time! I couldn't ask for a better mama! Betty's due date is May 8th. She also has an X-ray scheduled for the following week. Fingers crossed for 5 puppies.

Until then, we will continue to pamper our soon-to-be mamas and help them enjoy these last few weeks before the puppies come.
